THE
LIONS DEN

Where Good Isn't Good Enough.
Train the Details · Build the Player · Elevate the Game

There are basketball lessons — and then there is The Lions Den. A complete pro-style development system for athletes who are no longer satisfied with simply participating. Skills. Mindset. Film. Accountability. Ages 8 through adult.

No Shortcuts. No Excuses. Just Purposeful Work.
The Truth
There are no secrets. There is only what you are willing to repeat.
The players who separate themselves aren't doing something you've never seen. They do the same drills — more often, with more focus, more urgency, and a fire that never dies out.

Exceptional players practice the same fundamentals as everyone else. They simply perform them with greater discipline, greater intensity, greater consistency, and greater purpose.

The Lions Den does not chase tricks, shortcuts, or temporary motivation. We train the details. We repeat the fundamentals. We develop the mindset. We prepare players to perform when the pressure is real, fatigue sets in, and the game is on the line.

Every athlete is trained at an age-appropriate level — and every athlete is held to a meaningful standard. That is the whole difference.

They don't settle for second place in anything. Neither should you.

04 — The Relentless Mindset

Skills Disappear Under Pressure
When the Mind Is Undisciplined.

The internal standard behind everything taught inside The Den.
01

Discipline

Doing what needs to be done — even when motivation disappears. Arrive prepared. Listen carefully. Accept correction. Complete the repetition. Honor the commitment.

02

Consistency

Greatness is not created by one impressive workout. It is built through small, purposeful actions repeated until excellence becomes a habit.

03

Resilience

Mistakes are part of development. Recover from missed shots, hard games, criticism, and limited minutes without losing confidence or abandoning the process.

04

Competitive Excellence

The goal is not obsessing over everyone else. The goal is refusing to give less than your best — and refusing to become comfortable with mediocrity.

05

Ownership

No excuses. No blaming teammates. No blaming coaches. No hiding behind circumstances. You own your preparation, effort, attitude, and response to adversity.

06

Coachability

Correction is not rejection. Listen, process, adjust, and apply — without letting pride or frustration interfere with development.

07

Confidence Through Preparation

Real confidence is not pretending failure is impossible. It is knowing you have prepared yourself to respond when the challenge appears.

★

The Standard

We are asking athletes to live by a standard. We live by one too. Every session, every rep, every correction.

Six-Week Foundation

The Relentless Mindset Curriculum

Every athlete who enters The Den runs the same six-week mental foundation alongside their physical training. It is not a motivational speech. It is a curriculum with assignments, checkpoints, and a written personal standard at the end.

Week 1

Interest Versus Commitment

Many athletes are interested in becoming better. Far fewer will organize their lives around the work required. Players identify which one they are.

Week 2

Control What You Can Control

Preparation, effort, attitude, communication, recovery, response — instead of officials, spectators, rankings, or playing time.

Week 3

Confidence Through Preparation

Confidence built from repetition, knowledge, physical preparation, and proof — not empty statements.

Week 4

Responding to Failure

Evaluate the mistake, make the adjustment, recover emotionally, return to action. Every athlete will need this.

Week 5

The Champion's Routine

Daily habits for training, nutrition, recovery, academics, goal-setting, and personal accountability.

Week 6

Becoming Relentless

Players define the standard they will maintain when no coach, parent, teammate, or audience is watching.

05 — Achievement Pathway

Earn It. Wear It. Prove It.

The patch program turns progress into pride — and gives athletes visible milestones worth earning.

08 — For Parents

You Are Not Just Buying Basketball Lessons.

You are choosing the environment your child will be shaped by.
A Lions Den family
Your athlete will be challenged

We hold a meaningful standard at every age — appropriate to where they are, honest about where they're going.

Your athlete will be corrected

Correction is not rejection. We teach players to receive coaching without pride or frustration getting in the way.

Your athlete will be supported

They will also be coached, encouraged, and taught to recognize what they are capable of becoming.

You will know what's happening

Clear communication about progress, goals, and what your athlete is working on between sessions.

Parents do not simply want their children to become better basketball players. They want young people who demonstrate discipline, confidence, leadership, resilience, responsibility, positive communication, coachability, character, strong habits, respect for the process, and the ability to overcome adversity.

The Lions Den uses basketball as both a competitive platform and a vehicle for personal development. Below are the questions every parent should ask any trainer — and our answers.

The Lions Den is built on pro-style fundamental instruction and serves young beginners through college athletes and adults. Every track — Cubs Foundation, Development Academy, High School Elite, College Prep, College & Advanced, and Adult Performance — has its own curriculum and its own standard, so athletes are never dropped into a session built for someone else's stage of development. Ask us about your athlete's specific level during the evaluation and we will tell you honestly where they fit.

Train the details. Build the player. Elevate the game. We do not rely on tricks, shortcuts, or temporary motivation. We teach fundamentals to a pro standard, repeat them at game speed, add pressure and fatigue, and require the athlete to hold their technique together when it gets hard. The tone is demanding and positive at the same time — high expectations, clear instruction, real encouragement.

Training begins with an evaluation. We identify strengths, weaknesses, position, role on their team, and what is realistically holding their game back. From there we build a block around specific coaching domains — shooting, handles, finishing, defense, speed and agility, IQ, strength, film, mental performance, or position-specific work — rather than running every athlete through the same generic hour.

Yes. Athletes are assessed at intake and re-checked at regular checkpoints. Progress is tracked three ways: measurable skill standards, the Achievement Pathway patch system (six levels from Cub Foundations to Bonafide Lion, plus skill-domain and mindset patches), and film. Athletes and parents can see exactly what has improved and what is next.

Through the Relentless Mindset — a formal six-week curriculum every athlete runs alongside physical training, covering interest versus commitment, controlling what you can control, confidence through preparation, responding to failure, the champion's routine, and defining a personal standard. It is reinforced by a full mindset library in the Video Academy. Skills disappear under pressure when the mind is undisciplined; we train both.

Every session includes a structured warm-up (jump rope, dynamic mobility, ladder work) and a cool-down with static stretching, foam rolling, and a breathing reset. Strength work emphasizes body control, deceleration, and balance — not just explosion. Load is scaled by age and training history. Athletes are taught to communicate about pain, fatigue, and recovery rather than hide it, and we coordinate with parents when something needs attention.

Directly and regularly. Athletes receive in-session correction and assignments to complete before the next session. Parents receive progress updates, goals, and an honest read on what their athlete needs. Online coaching members receive film analysis and written development goals. You will never have to guess whether your child is improving.

Pricing depends on the format — private, semi-private, small group, team training, camp, or online membership — and on the length of the commitment. Because we build the plan around the athlete rather than selling a single generic rate, we quote after a short consultation. Multi-session packages and membership tiers are available. Contact us and we will give you clear numbers with no pressure.

Show up on time and prepared. Listen. Accept correction. Complete the repetition. Do the assigned work between sessions. Represent the standard in the classroom and the community, not just in the gym. From families: support the process, encourage the standard, and hold your athlete accountable at home. We ask athletes to live by a standard — we live by one too.

Yes. We can connect you with current Lions Den families, and our verified reviews are visible on our Lessons.com profile. We would rather you talk to a parent whose child has been through it than take our word for anything.
